Here at the Weary Ploughman Inn, we pride ourselves on our delicious dishes and recipes, made using top quality produce. And we like to buy local when we can. Here are just a few of our regular suppliers – come in and enjoy the taste.
Right on our doorstep is the ‘World Famous Brixham Fishmarket’ so we do love to feature local fish. We use two main local suppliers. Robert’s Fisheries are specialists in fresh Brixham fish and Kingfisher’s fish comes from sustainable sources, usually landed at Brixham , Plymouth or Looe in Cornwall. Follow them on Twitter @Kingfisher_BXM to find out what’s trading in the fish markets today. Early birds can even book a dawn tour of the Brixham Fishmarket in action.
We use a number of top quality Devon butchers and most of their meat comes direct from westcountry farms; we choose carefully to bring you some really great flavours.
Even our coffee beans are roasted right here in Devon.
The farm is just a few miles from the Weary Ploughman, in the South Hams and we’re delighted to be able to offer you a range of their delicious award-winning ice
creams made with fresh cream, clotted cream and real fruit.
We also use local suppliers when we can for eggs, mussels and other produce. Please note that suppliers may change and we may source produce from a range of suppliers to provide you with the best possible flavour and at a price that won’t break the bank. Our menus change throughout the season to make the most of the best produce available.
