We love Christmas at the Weary Ploughman. Our Christmas Day lunch is a favourite and, in addition to festive fayre we have delicious duck, fish and vegetarian options. Our Christmas Part menu runs from 1st to 30th December (except Sunday lunches, Christmas Day and Boxing Day) and are ideal for get-togethers with friends and colleagues. Booking is essential. The Weary Ploughman Inn has been steeped in local history since the 1800s, having been originally built as The Railway Hotel.
Our hotel is located in Churston Ferres near Brixham in South Devon, next to the pretty Churston Station, which serves the idyllic Paignton to Kingswear Steam Railway Line. We’ve become a very popular meeting place for local residents and Agatha Christie fans; the Queen of Crime’s riverside residence at Greenway, now run by the National Trust, is just 2 miles away.
Walkers love to stay and dine here too as we are a short stroll to the famous South West Coast Path heading to Dartmouth and on towards Cornwall in one direction and to the red cliffs of east Devon in the other.
Birdwatchers are warmly welcomed and often drop in after a fascinating day spotting the migrants from the cliffs at spectacular Berry Head National Nature Reserve, also close by.

You’ll find some delightful choices on our wine list with some specialised gins and vodkas including Chase Marmalade Vodka from Hereford, Black Cow Vodka from Dorset and Hendrick’s Gin from Scotland as well as Devon’s very own Plymouth Gin of course.
